LookLeeds

For the first half of this project, I was required to produce a static website prototype with a focus on website planning, design and front-end interactivity. The second half involved me building on the prototype by developing a fully functioning WordPress website with focus on theme creation, custom fields and PHP coding within the WordPress loop.

Task

Create a dynamic, WordPress-based website that provides information on where to go and what to do in Leeds.

Wireframes

Here’s the initial wireframes I made for the website. This helped understand where to position elements and content on both desktop and mobile devices.

Static HTML Prototype

This was used in the first part of the module to test the design and functionality of the site made from purely HTML and CSS. From here, the site was ported into WordPress theme where a lot of features where changed to improve the functionality of the site.

As this version is just a prototype, most of the features don’t work but will hopefully help you see the comparison from the static HTML site to the final product which is available to see above.
